The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted a precision airstrike against a convoy of bandits in Zamfara State. The operation, which took place on July 9, 2025, resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF's spokesman, the airstrike was carried out based on real-time intelligence indicating the movement of a large convoy of nearly 150 motorcycles, each carrying approximately two armed terrorists, near Yarbuga in Maru Local Government Area.
"After confirming the hostile presence through positive identification, NAF aircraft engaged the convoy with devastating accuracy, causing significant damage and neutralizing several terrorists," Ejodame explained.
The airstrike was followed by a persistent surveillance operation, during which air assets maintained a watchful eye on the area. Survivors were seen fleeing on foot and on motorcycles, and follow-up strikes were executed to disrupt the enemy's withdrawal routes.
In a follow-up operation, ground troops conducted an exploit mission to Yarbuga village on the morning of July 10, 2025, further consolidating the gains made during the airstrike.
The successful operation is a testament to the NAF's commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the security of Nigerian citizens.
