A former Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Mabel Oboh, has said the party will be formidable in Lagos and Edo states.
Oboh, who was the candidate of the ADC in the Edo 2020 governorship election, said notable politicians have joined the party in both states, adding that they have the capacity to bring new members to the party.
She noted that a former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, a former ally of President Bola Tinubu, who also plays his politics in Lagos, has since become the ADC national secretary, while Rahman Owokoniran, the former South West Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party has joined the ADC.
Speaking of Edo State, Oboh noted that the former National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Chief John Oyegun has already picked up his membership card while members of other parties including the PDP, APC and Labour Party are already queueing up to become members.
“The ADC coalition is the number one opposition party in the country and we are getting members en masse into the party from other parties.
“For example in Lagos, PDP member like Rahman Owokoniran, the former South West Secretary of the PDP has joined while Rauf Aregbesola is now our national secretary, his PA Shola Okiki has joined too.
“From the feedback I have got from Edo State, Chief John Oyegun has got his membership card. Old members are standing firm while others from PDP, Labour and APC are getting membership forms of the party.
“ADC is the reigning party now and I can assure you, we will win the 2027 presidential election. The heavyweights behind our coalition have no match.
She said the improved fortunes of the party has been the dream of former national chairman, Ralph Nwosu.
“What is happening has been the dream of ADC especially our former national chairman, Ralph NwosuHe wants Nigeria to become vibrant and united. He has always said that ADC will deliver Nigerians from poverty and give solutions to the problems facing the nation.”
