Sen Kingibe Accuses Wike of Slashing ₦200m Land Bill To ₦2m For His Son

Senator Ireti Kingibe has accused Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of abusing his power by slashing his son's ₦200 million land bill to just ₦2 million within 48 hours. Kingibe made this allegation during a live appearance on Arise TV, citing documents that support her claims.

According to Kingibe, Wike's actions are not only unethical but also potentially illegal. She described the move as "unfair" and questioned the lack of transparency in the land administration process. The senator also expressed concerns about the implications of such actions on the integrity of the system.

Kingibe's allegations are not the first time Wike has faced criticism for his handling of land allocations in Abuja. There have been reports of Wike allocating large tracts of land to his family members and allies, sparking concerns about corruption and abuse of power.

The senator has vowed to take the matter further, threatening to present evidence to the relevant legislative oversight bodies to demand accountability. This development has raised questions about the effectiveness of the country's institutions in checking the excesses of those in power.
